Rio Grande {original oil painting}
Rio Grande {original oil painting}
Misty morning on the Rio Grande at the Texas/Mexico border
Where’s the most magical place in Texas? Along the Rio Grande in the Big Bend. My favorite spot is at the Rock House which overlooks the river, just outside of Lajitas, Texas. Here I’ve painted the view to the east of the house but all directions are incredible. West and East look up and down the river, South into the wild vastness of Mexico, and North to the desert mountains of Texas. If water is life, then the mighty Rio Grande is the living, breathing connection that unites our land, people, and most certainly our wildlife.
